To Apply
You Need To Send Us...
- Visa Application Form (Acrobat 8.0 format, right click to download) - completed and signed.
This two page document must be printed double sided on a single sheet of paper. If your printer does not support double sided (or 'duplex') printing, first print one side then place the page back in the printer's paper tray to print the other side. Acrobat Reader 8.0 is required, you can download the most recent free version from Adobe. You can fill in this form either electronically or by hand. If you are applying for a tourist visa sections 4.7 – 4.10 can be filled as "N/A". Ensure you answer ALL questions.

Copies of flight/travel tickets showing entry and exit to/from China. Please note - This must have the applicant’s name on, and if you are applying for double entry visa, you must show proof of both entries/exits.

A copy of the hotel/accommodation booking, or a signed letter of invitation from the host if you are staying with a friend – again, this must have the applicant(s) name(s) clearly stated on it. A copy of the inviter’s passport and visa must be supplied (if non-Chinese), or a copy of the passport/ID card if they are a Chinese citizen.
- One passport-size photograph
- Your passport - valid for at least 6 months from the application date with two free adjacent "visa" pages
- Payment - choose from cheque, cash or postal order made payable to “VisaToChina”, or pay online using a Credit/Debit card

For business visa applications only - an Original Official government authenticated letter of invitation (please e-mail us for a sample copy of this)
- Pre-paid addressed Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope - for the return of your visa and passport. You may send a single envelope for multiple applications.

Read Carefully Before Sending Your Application
- Single-entry visas are valid for stays of up to 30 days only, anyone wanting to stay longer on a single-entry visa must apply directly to the Chinese Consulate.
- Visas cannot be applied for more than two months in advance of the entry date.
- On a double entry visa for both tourist and business the second date of entry must be within 3 months of the issue date.
- If you are applying with a non-UK passport please contact us in advance to confirm the fee(s).
- If you have previously held a Chinese passport please contact us before applying.
- If you have a criminal record you will have to apply for your visa directly with the Chinese Consulate.
- Anyone whose occupation is ‘journalist’ should contact the Chinese Consulate directly regarding their application.
- If you are planning on traveling to Tibet you will need to apply directly to the Chinese Consulate for your visa.
If all these requirements are not met, your visa application may be delayed or refused by the Chinese Consulate.
